Man who claims to “thrive off pressure” totally deluded

Matthew Mantle, who has reached the dizzying heights of middle management for a high street retail company, claimed that he loves his job because he “thrives off pressure."

32 year-old Mantle made the boast while drinking with pals and was immediately unfollowed and unfriended by everyone who heard the comment.

Despite this, he refused to budge from his position.

"Some people would shy away from 12 hour work days, but I just love the grind, baby."

"I even have a tattoo that says 'DIAMONDS ARE MADE UNDER PRESSURE'. I like to think that motto applies to world-class athletes and people climbing the corporate ladder at B&M Bargins like me."

"Some people tell me that I'm going to die of a heart attack if I keep working like this. But for me that's the same as a warrior being carried out on his shield. Albeit my shield is a stack of reports from head office.

"All my bosses can't help but respect my hustle."

Sandy Smith, Mantle's boss, gave a somewhat different account of his workplace performance.

"Matthew works 12 hour days because he is totally overwhelmed by the job. We had to fire some folk a few months back and he's essentially doing the work of two people for no extra pay.

"Idiots like Matthew, who believe they are 'hustling' but are actually just being taken advantage of, are the reason I drive a BMW.

"God bless capitalism and the dum-dums who feed the machine."
